The IRS is Recognized as a Company That
Wants You

A recent article appearing on Forbes.com highlights the IRS as one of the Top 10 employers of new graduates. In fact, they note that we are among the five largest employers of recent grads, with 5,000 jobs available. Other companies in the top five include Enterprise Rent-A-Car, AmeriCorps, Walgreens and Progressive Insurance. This recognition is based on an annual survey by CollegeGrad.com, an entry-level jobseeker website that surveys thousands of employers’ hiring trends on behalf of graduating students.

IRS Regarded as an Employer of Choice

For more than 20 years, CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine has been the pre-eminent career-guidance and recruitment magazine for people with disabilities. In a recent survey, the magazine asked its readers to identify private and public sector employers "for whom they would most like to work for that they believe would provide a progressive environment for people with disabilities."

The magazine’s readers ranked the IRS as the fifth most desirable government employer. Other top ranked government employers included the Social Security Administration, National Security Agency, FBI and the Central Intelligence Agency.

After learning of the survey results, Dora Treviño, the Acting Chief of EEO & Diversity at the IRS, noted "The IRS has long sought, not just to meet its legal obligations with respect to persons with disabilities, but to create a working environment characterized by inclusiveness, in order to attract and retain the most capable and talented people. It is gratifying to see the Service regarded in CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine as an employer of choice."
