The Large Business & International (LB&I) Division directly reports to the Deputy Commissioner for Services and Enforcement. LB&I holds responsibility for tax administration activities concerning domestic and foreign businesses subject to United States tax reporting requirements and possessing assets equal to or exceeding $10 million. Additionally, LB&I oversees the Global High Wealth and International Individual Compliance programs. Actuary – Job Series 1510

As an Actuary, you will analyze complex actuarial problems and issues involved in tax law, rulings, and court case decisions in determinations of tax liability under the Internal Revenue Code.

Appraiser – Job Series 0171

As an Appraiser, you will perform appraisals of businesses and business interests where the appraisal will have a significant tax impact and affect large segments of taxpayers. You will make determinations of fair market value of large and complex corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual business interests, as well as other types of financial and investment instruments.

As a Senior Economist, you will use expert economic and subject-matter knowledge to resolve complex transfer-pricing cases based on applicable principles and guidelines.

As an Internal Revenue Agent, you will develop federal tax issues based on analysis and evaluation of overall domestic and global business, focusing on high-risk tax compliance issues.

Senior Revenue Agent – Job Series 0512

As a Senior Revenue Agent, you will lead audit examinations of complex entities, serve as an expert on tax issues, and develop resources to share knowledge and ensure consistency in positions.

Competent Authority Analyst – Job Series 0930

As a Competent Authority Analyst, you will serve as an expert in transfer pricing, tax treaty allocation, and international tax issues, working to reach agreements on transfer pricing and international tax matters.

Tax Law Specialist – Job Series 0987

As a Tax Law Specialist, you will plan, conduct, and lead audit examinations of complex entities to ensure U.S. tax law is applied uniformly and fairly, serving as an expert on tax law interpretation and application.
