In-Person Hiring Events - Customer Service & Clerical Support

The IRS is hiring mission-critical, entry-level customer service and clerical support positions. These roles offer a unique, non-repetitive workday that showcase your clerical and/or communication skills while offering rewarding public service opportunities.

Clerks

As a Clerk, you will use an automated system to update reports and records, order research, acknowledge correspondence, and transcribe and verify a wide variety of taxpayer prepared tax returns and related schedules.

Tax Examiners

As a Tax Examiner, you will analyze and resolve tax processing problems, adjusts taxpayer accounts, and respond to taxpayer’s inquiries regarding preparation of a variety of tax returns and related schedules.
